A bright and fresh salad featuring mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil, perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

  • Fresh mozzarella cheese (preferably buffalo mozzarella)
  • Ripe, juicy tomatoes (heirloom or vine-ripened)
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Balsamic vinegar
  • Salt and freshly cracked pepper

Instructions

  1. Slice the fresh mozzarella and tomatoes into thick slices, about 1/4-inch thick.
  2. On a serving platter, alternate layers of mozzarella and tomato slices.
  3. Tuck whole basil leaves between the layers.
  4. Drizzle the salad with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve immediately or chill in the refrigerator before serving.

Notes
