A delightful side dish of crisp green beans tossed with toasted almonds and a hint of garlic and lemon.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Trim the ends of your green beans.
  2. Blanch the green beans in boiling salted water for 3-4 minutes.
  3. Drain the green beans in a colander.
  4. Toast the almonds in melted butter until golden brown.
  5. Sauté minced garlic in the skillet for about a minute.
  6. Combine the blanched green beans with the almond mixture.
  7. Lemon juice is added and season with salt and pepper.
  8. Serve warm with almonds on top.

Notes

For variations, consider adding crispy bacon bits or fresh herbs.
