Whimsical cookies that combine buttery softness with the sweet flavor of cotton candy for a nostalgic treat.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup cotton candy (flavored or color of choice)
  • Pastel food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until combined.
  6. Fold in the cotton candy and add food coloring if desired.
  7. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a lined baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Chill the dough for about an hour for thicker cookies. Use fresh cotton candy for best results.
