Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup crispy jalapeños
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken breasts in the buttermilk for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight.
  2. Mix together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  3. Heat enough oil in a frying pan to cover the bottom, about half an inch deep.
  4. Coat the marinated chicken in the seasoned flour mix, ensuring it’s well-covered.
  5. Fry each piece for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Drain the chicken on paper towels to keep the crust crispy.
  7. Top with crispy jalapeños just before serving.
  8. Enjoy your Crispy Spicy Jalapeño Chicken!

Notes

For extra crispiness, consider double-coating the chicken. Make sure the oil is at optimal temperature (around 350°F) when frying.
