Crockpot French Onion Pot Roast

A cozy and comforting pot roast cooked in a slow cooker, infused with rich flavors of French onion and tender beef.

Ingredients

  • 34 lb pot roast
  • 4 large onions, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup French onion soup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh thyme, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the pot roast with salt and pepper.
  2. Layer the sliced onions and minced garlic in the bottom of the crockpot.
  3. Add the pot roast on top of the onions.
  4. Mix the beef broth, French onion soup, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl, then pour it over the roast.
  5. Cook on low for 8-10 hours until tender.
  6. Shred the beef with two forks and mix it into the gravy.
  7. Garnish with fresh thyme before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a splash of red wine to the broth.
