A simple and delicious strawberry cobbler that is perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter cubed into about 8 pats or pieces
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ¼ cups whole milk (or 2% or plant-based milk)
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries cleaned, hulled, and halved or quartered

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F. Add the cubed butter pieces to the bottom of the baking pan, scattered evenly, and place it in the oven while preheating to melt the butter, about 10 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt, and whisk to mix.
  3. Add the milk and whisk until just combined. Optionally, add a teaspoon of vanilla or almond extract for extra flavor.
  4. Remove the baking pan from the oven after 10 minutes, ensuring the butter is melted, and evenly pour the batter over the butter without mixing.
  5. Evenly sprinkle the strawberries over the batter and bake for about 45 minutes, or until the cobbler is set. Check around 35-40 minutes, adjusting the time as necessary based on fruit moisture.
  6. Serve immediately plain or with ice cream, whipped topping, Cool Whip, etc.

Notes

  • Baking time may vary based on the type of fruit used and the baking pan material.
  • If the top browns too quickly, tent the cobbler with foil.
  • Baking in a metal pan may result in a shorter baking time (5-8 minutes less).
