A delightful twist on the classic French dip sandwich with flaky pastry filled with roast beef and Swiss cheese.

Ingredients

  • Deli-sliced roast beef
  • Swiss cheese
  • Onion soup mix
  • Puff pastry or bread
  • Butter
  • Garlic (optional)
  • Dijon mustard (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry or prep your bread.
  3. Layer the deli-sliced roast beef and Swiss cheese on the pastry.
  4. Sprinkle the onion soup mix evenly over the meat and cheese.
  5. Fold the pastry over to cover the filling, brushing the tops with melted butter.
  6. If desired, spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on the roast beef before adding cheese.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Cut into squares and serve warm with au jus or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Ensure puff pastry is thawed before preparing. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
