A comforting casserole that combines savory ground beef, creamy rice, and crispy French-fried onions, perfect for family gatherings or cozy dinners.

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice (uncooked)
  • 1 packet French onion soup mix
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella or Swiss cheese
  • ½ cup French-fried onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease your 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Brown the beef in a large skillet over medium heat for about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess grease.
  3. Mix the rice, French onion soup mix, and beef broth in a mixing bowl, then add the cooked beef and sour cream. Stir until combined.
  4. Assemble the mixture in the prepared baking dish and sprinkle cheese on top.
  5. Bake covered with foil for 40 minutes, then uncover and bake for another 10-15 minutes until bubbly.
  6. Finish by sprinkling French-fried onions on top and baking uncovered for 5 more minutes.
