Ingredients
Scale
1 pound ground beef
1 cup orzo pasta
1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
1 cup heavy cream
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)
Instructions
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing for 2-3 minutes until the onion is translucent.
Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
Stir in the diced tomatoes (with their juices), heavy cream, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
Add the orzo pasta to the skillet, stirring to combine. Cover and cook for about 10-12 minutes, or until the orzo is tender and has absorbed most of the sauce, stirring occasionally.
Once cooked, remove from heat and let it sit for a few minutes. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese.
Notes
Stir occasionally while the orzo is cooking to prevent sticking.
Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or bell peppers for extra flavor and nutrition.
