A delightful fusion of flavors with warm, gooey cheese and a zesty kick from jalapenos, perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 package of puff pastry or crescent roll dough
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 12 jalapenos, diced (seeds removed for less heat)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Egg wash (1 egg beaten with 1 tbsp water) for brushing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry or crescent roll dough on a floured surface.
  3. Mix the cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, diced jalapenos, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  4. Spread the cheese mixture evenly over the rolled-out dough.
  5. Cut the dough into strips (about 1 inch wide) and twist each strip before placing it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Brush the tops with the egg wash for a golden color.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Serve warm, preferably fresh out of the oven.

Notes

For best results, roll the dough thin, adjust jalapeno heat to taste, and chill filling if too soft.
