A delightful and succulent baked turkey breast infused with aromatic herbs, perfect for holidays or family dinners.

  • 4 to 5 pounds bone-in turkey breast
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Prepare the turkey breast by patting it dry with paper towels.
  3. Add sliced onions and lemon around the bottom of the roasting pan.
  4. Mix together the softened butter, olive oil, garlic, herbs, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Season under the skin of the turkey with the herb butter mixture.
  6. Rub the remaining garlic herb butter all over the outside of the turkey.
  7. Add chicken broth to the bottom of the pan.
  8. Bake uncovered for about 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  9. Baste the turkey with pan juices once or twice while baking.
  10. Rest the turkey for 15 to 20 minutes after removing from the oven.
  11. Slice and serve warm with pan juices drizzled on top.

Notes

For best results, dry the turkey skin thoroughly and consider seasoning ahead of time for deeper flavor.
