Million Dollar Spaghetti Casserole

A cheesy and hearty pasta dish that combines classic spaghetti and meatballs with a creamy ricotta twist.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz spaghetti
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 jar spaghetti sauce (about 24 oz)
  • 16 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Be sure to drain well!
  3. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Make sure to drain any excess fat.
  4. Stir in the spaghetti sauce and let it simmer for a few minutes.
  5. Combine ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl. Mix it well.
  6. Layer half of the spaghetti in a greased casserole dish, followed by half of the meat sauce, and then half of the creamy ricotta mixture.
  7. Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
  8. Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  9. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  10. Remove the foil and bake for another 15 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  11. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding some crushed red pepper flakes or vegetables like spinach or zucchini.
