Delight in these quick and easy homemade cinnamon rolls, soft and sweet with a gooey glaze, perfect for any occasion.

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Combine warm milk, yeast, and one tablespoon of sugar in a bowl. Let sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
  2. Mix in remaining sugar, melted butter, salt, and egg. Gradually stir in flour until dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Roll the dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter, and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Roll tightly and slice into 12 rolls.
  8. Arrange the rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 15-20 minutes.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Mix the glaze ingredients until smooth and drizzle over warm rolls.

Notes

To ensure perfect rolls, avoid using too much flour and temperature-check the warm milk.
