A delightful orange curd that adds a burst of citrus flavor and silky texture to your dishes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon grated orange zest
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Combine the orange juice, orange zest, sugar, and eggs in a medium saucepan. Whisk together until smooth.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and coats the back of a spoon—this should take about 10 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in butter until melted and smooth.
  4. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve into a jar or bowl to remove any zest or egg bits.
  5. Let cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until set for a few hours.

Notes

Strain your mixture for a silky smooth curd and always use fresh juice for the best flavor.
