Ingredients
Scale
2 oz Bourbon
½ oz Pickle Brine
2 Dashes Angostura Bitters
1 Sugar Cube (or ½ oz Simple Syrup)
1 Large Ice Cube
Garnish: Pickle spear
Garnish: Orange peel
Instructions
In a rocks glass, muddle the sugar cube with the Angostura bitters and a small splash of water until the sugar has completely dissolved. If using simple syrup, simply stir it together with the bitters.
Pour the bourbon and pickle brine into the glass and stir to combine.
Add a large ice cube and stir gently for 20–30 seconds until the drink is thoroughly chilled.
Twist the orange peel over the glass to release its aromatic oils, then drop it into the cocktail. Finish with a pickle spear on the rim or inside the glass for a bold, savory garnish. Serve immediately and enjoy.
Notes
For best results, use a quality dill pickle brine.
Adjust the sweetness by modifying the sugar or simple syrup based on preference.
Experiment with different bourbons to find the flavor profile you prefer.
