  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 cup warm water (around 110°F)
  • 2 tablespoons active dry yeast
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Combine the oats and warm water in a large bowl, then add the molasses and yeast. Let sit for about 10 minutes.
  2. Mix in the melted butter, salt, and flour, adding flour one cup at a time until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl covered with a kitchen towel for about 1 hour.
  5. Shape the risen dough into rolls and place on a baking sheet. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Cool briefly before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. Reheat in a 350°F oven.
