Delicious salted caramel cookies with gooey caramel and a hint of sea salt.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup caramel chips
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • ½ tsp flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl. Set this aside for now.
  3. Cream the softened butter with both sugars until it’s light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in the caramel chips and chocolate chips (if using).
  7. Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Sprinkle each cookie with flaky sea salt.
  9. Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden.
  10. Let them cool for about 5 minutes on the baking sheet, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Don’t skip the cooling rack for the best texture.
