  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups diced apples
  • Cinnamon Nut Topping:
  • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 13×9 inch pan.
  2. Place the butter and sugar in a large bowl, beat until well incorporated. Add the eggs and vanilla, beat until light and fluffy.
  3. Sift the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together. Add the dry ingredients alternately with the sour cream, beating until just incorporated after each addition.
  4. Stir in the diced apples. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan. Sprinkle the topping over the top.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees F for 35 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
