Deliciously flaky croissants filled with gooey cheese and savory ham, perfect for any meal of the day.

Ingredients

  • Croissant dough
  • Sliced ham
  • Cheese (such as Swiss or cheddar)
  • Butter
  • Sourdough starter
  • 1 Egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the croissant dough on a lightly floured surface and cut it into triangles.
  3. Spread a thin layer of butter on each triangle.
  4. Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on each triangle.
  5. Roll the dough tightly from the wide end to the point to form a croissant shape.
  6. Place the croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Brush the tops with beaten egg.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Chill the dough before rolling for better flakiness. Don’t skip the egg wash for a golden finish!
