2 pounds ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)
1 cup plain breadcrumbs
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 large egg
1/4 cup milk
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup ketchup
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Preheat the oven: Set it to 375°F (190°C).
Mix the meat mixture: In your large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, milk, onion, garlic, Italian seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
Shape and stuff the loaf: Shape the meat mixture into a rectangle, create a trench down the middle, and stuff with shredded mozzarella.
Bake it: Bake for about 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the internal temperature hits 160°F (71°C).
Glaze it: About 10 minutes before it’s done, spread ketchup over the top.
Let it rest: Once out of the oven, let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Garnish and serve: Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve hot with your favorite sides.
