A delightful twist on classic French toast using sweet Hawaiian rolls for a perfect summer breakfast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 Hawaiian rolls
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Butter (for cooking)
  • Maple syrup (for serving)
  • Powdered sugar (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Add a little butter to let it melt.
  2. Whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, sugar, and cinnamon until well combined.
  3. Cut the Hawaiian rolls in half. Dip each half into the egg mixture, coating them thoroughly.
  4. Place the coated rolls on the skillet. Cook until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Flip gently!
  5. Serve warm, drizzled with maple syrup and optionally dusted with powdered sugar.

Notes

For best results, use a non-stick skillet and ensure not to over-soak the rolls.
