  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 1/4 cups mini candy-coated Easter eggs, lightly crushed (plus extra for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line your baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy and smooth.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a soft dough forms.
  6. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and crushed Easter eggs.
  7. Spread the dough evenly into the prepared pan and scatter reserved candy eggs and chocolate chips on top.
  8. Bake for 24 to 28 minutes, or until edges are golden and center looks set but soft.
  9. Cool completely in the pan before lifting out and slicing into squares.

Notes

Tips: Ensure butter is softened, don’t over-bake, and if possible, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
