Delightful, gooey bars filled with chocolate chips and candy-coated Easter eggs, perfect for Easter celebrations or any sweet occasion.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 1/4 cups mini candy-coated Easter eggs, lightly crushed (plus extra for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Line your baking pan with parchment paper.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Beat until creamy and smooth.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Stir until a soft dough forms.
  7. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and crushed Easter eggs.
  8. Press the dough evenly into your prepared pan, then scatter remaining candy eggs over the top.
  9. Bake for 24 to 28 minutes.
  10. Let the bars cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container. They maintain their softness for days. You can customize with different candies or add nuts.
