A flavorful marinade that transforms a simple cut of beef into a delicious dish with rich flavors of bourbon, soy sauce, and garlic.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup bourbon
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together bourbon, soy sauce, brown sugar, olive oil, minced garlic, black pepper, onion powder, and salt until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Place your steak in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it.
  3. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 120 minutes, or up to overnight.
  4. When ready to cook, preheat the grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Remove the steak from the marinade and let it come to room temperature.
  6. Grill or cook the steak to your desired doneness—about 5-7 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
  7. Finally, let the steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Let the steak marinate for the full time for the best flavor. Don’t skip the resting phase after cooking.
