Delicious and customizable Tater Tot Appetizer Cups with a cheesy filling, perfect for gatherings or family nights.

Ingredients

  • 1 bag frozen tater tots (about 32 oz / 900g)
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or a cheddar-monterey jack mix, about 200g)
  • 4 slices cooked bacon, chopped
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced
  • ½ cup sour cream (120ml)
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise (60ml)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional add-ins: diced jalapeños, diced bell pepper, finely chopped mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Grease that muffin tin with non-stick spray or butter.
  3. Shape the tater tots by lining each muffin cup and pressing them against the sides and bottom.
  4. Bake the cups for about 20 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
  5. Prepare the filling by mixing cheese, bacon, green onions, sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  6. Fill each crispy tater tot cup with the cheesy filling.
  7. Return the tin to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes.
  8. Cool for a couple of minutes, then remove and serve warm.

Notes

For best results, ensure tater tots are crispy before filling. You can customize the filling to your preference.
