A creamy and rich homemade ice cream featuring fresh peach puree, perfect for summer days.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh peaches, pureed
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Combine the milk, cream, and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir often until the sugar dissolves completely.
  2. Whisk the egg yolks in a bowl and slowly add in the hot milk mixture to temper the eggs.
  3. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly until it thickens (about 10 minutes).
  4. Remove from heat and stir in peach puree, vanilla extract, and salt.
  5. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
  6. Pour into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  7. Transfer to a container and freeze until firm.

Notes

Use the freshest peaches for best flavor and don’t skip the chilling step for a smoother texture.
